Tiriac Group encourages charity by providing support to organizations and projects whose causes resonate with its values.
The Romanian Olympic Foundation is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization that supports the development of both professional and amateur sports in Romania and promotes healthy living principles. The Romanian Olympic Foundation started its activity in 1998, at the initiative of Mr. Ion Tiriac and with the support of the Romanian Sports Olympic Committee and of other sports personalities.
Ion Tiriac Sports Complex is one of the most important projects developed by the foundation under the coordination of Mr. Ion Tiriac. The complex, which is the result of the reconstruction of Granitul Sports Centre, offers facilities at international standards: a football field, 2 starts FIFA-accredited; a multifunctional field for mini-football, handball, tennis and kickball; a basketball court, as well as a standard-size sand soccer and volleyball field. Also, the centre has locker rooms for athletes and referees, a medical room and a private parking lot with a capacity of over 30 spaces. All these facilities are available, free of charge, for organized groups of students from the 2nd District of Bucharest.
The first phase of the project was a success, thanks to the support and involvement of the partners such as ENEL, Allianz-Țiriac, Regina Maria, Rompetrol, Romtelecom, UniCredit Țiriac Bank, McCann Erickson Romania, Algabeth, Brenntag, Chim Titan, Eco-X, Glass & Aluminium, Ingenium Media, Legrand Romania, Maral, Midocar, Nobilis, Rehau, Residenz – cartierul german, Semmelrock, Sommering, Stihl, Tiriac Auto, Tiriac Leasing, Techwave, Viessmann, Vila 23, and the City Hall of the 2nd District of Bucharest. However, this is only a promising beginning. We need to help and support children in Bucharest to practice sports in the best conditions.
